Supervising Social Worker needed for Fostering Team in Peterborough paying £39 ph – Hybrid Working

• Position: Supervising Social Worker – Fostering
• Rate: £39 per hour (Umbrella)
• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Working Pattern: Sand Martin House (Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office)

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Supervising Social Worker to join a busy and supportive Fostering Service. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact by supporting foster carers and ensuring children receive safe, stable, and nurturing placements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a caseload of up to 15 fostering households.
• Conduct monthly supervision visits and provide ongoing guidance and support to foster carers.
• Attend and contribute to Child Care Reviews, Placement Planning Meetings, and other multi‑agency meetings.
• Complete annual foster carer reviews to ensure compliance with fostering standards.
• Participate in the Placement Team’s duty rota, responding to placement enquiries and providing day duty support.
• Undertake statutory checks, assessments, and risk assessments as required.
• Work collaboratively with Children’s Social Work Teams, Education Services, and Clinical Professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and high‑quality case recordings and reports.

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Experience working within a Fostering Service, ideally as a Supervising Social Worker.
• Strong knowledge of fostering legislation, regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
