Support Worker – Social Housing

£12.71 to £15.50 per hour

BRC is currently recruiting experienced Support Workers to work within social housing services across Cardiff, supporting young people aged 16 to 24. We have a variety of opportunities available, including relief work and flexible shift patterns covering days, nights, and weekends, as well as more structured 9 to 5 contracts.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supporting young people to maintain their tenancy and develop independent living skills.
• Providing day-to-day welfare support and completing regular checks.
• Supporting with housing-related issues, including rent, budgeting, and tenancy sustainment.
• Creating and updating support plans, risk assessments, and case notes.
• Encouraging engagement with education, employment, training, and community services.
• Supporting residents with emotional wellbeing and building confidence.
• Working alongside external agencies and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
• Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns and challenging situations.
• Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residents.

What we are looking for

• Minimum 6 months experience working in a support role.
• Experience within social housing, supported accommodation, homelessness, youth services, or similar settings.
• A valid enhanced DBS check.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• A proactive and person-centred approach to supporting young people.
