Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Working Pattern: 1x 16 hrs per week and 1x 32 hours per week
Location: InspireU Lincoln
Closing Date: 22 July 2026
About the Role
Here at InspireU we deliver study programmes to local people aged between 16‑24 who may have behavioural issues or need academic support. Our learners are with us to complete lessons in Maths, English, and Preparing for Adulthood, and as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will support them as they learn theory and have the opportunity to apply this learning in practice.
LSAs work with learners either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. The learning environment is designed to be smaller than an average classroom, with classes of no more than 14. Day‑to‑day you will assist learners by managing behaviour and ensuring engagement in lessons, each day presenting new opportunities, challenges, and possibilities.
This is a permanent contract at our InspireU Lincoln site. We have two positions, one 16‑hour week and one 32‑hour week.
About the Team
The team values communication and collaboration. Each day we debrief together, record our observations, discuss challenges, and share learning. Our team includes tutors, wellbeing coaches, job coaches, and employment officers, all sharing the vision that every learner can realise and achieve their potential.
About You
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can use their creative skills to keep young learners engaged and focused. You should be proactive, flexible, and understanding of learners’ needs. You must be highly organised and able to maintain accurate records to a high standard. Teamworking is essential; you need to be an effective communicator, relating well to young people and adults alike, contributing to the team’s success.
Previous experience working with vulnerable learners is advantageous but not essential. We will provide comprehensive and fully funded training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Systematic Instruction, and Information Advice and Guidance Level 2.
Qualifications
This role requires proficiency in communication with young people and adults, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage behaviour in a supportive environment. Experience with vulnerable learners is advantageous. Fluency duty: the ability to speak accurate spoken English is essential.
Benefits and Progression
Our LSAs can progress to roles such as Provision Manager, Job Coach, Wellbeing Coach, or Tutor. Career progression is supported through training, mentoring, and sharing experience.
Benefits include a competitive salary, contributory pension, comprehensive benefits package with discount schemes and cycle‑to‑work, flexible working policies, career progression opportunities, generous annual leave entitlement with the option to buy more.
Legal and EEO Statement
Lincolnshire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Due to recent changes in immigration law, we cannot offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role.
