Role Overview


We’re offering a unique opportunity to work in a new childrens residential home in Wimborne. This role involves supporting children with learning disabilities to help them feel safe and empowered. Support workers will engage in activities such as school runs, mealtimes, and play, and help children build life skills and independence. The role includes being part of a team that ensures safety and care, handling challenging behaviours calmly, and participating in sleep‑ins.


Responsibilities



  • Provide direct care and support to children with learning disabilities.

  • Assist with school runs, meals, play and other daily activities.

  • Help children build life skills and progress toward independence.

  • Maintain a safe environment and respond appropriately to challenging behaviours.

  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to team meetings and planning.

  • Participate in sleep‑ins and other overnight care duties as required.


Qualifications



  • Level3 in Residential Childcare is encouraged but not required; training will be provided.

  • Empathy, reliability and a genuine passion for making a difference.

  • £14.50 per hour (additional £1.00 for overnight shifts – £15.50 if Level3 in Residential Childcare is held).
