Join Wellesley Hospital in Wellington as a Maintenance Technician. You will lead the creation of a safe, well‑presented environment for vulnerable patients and staff while working 37.5 hours per week. Your role is the primary point of contact for all maintenance‑related tasks, ensuring the service’s facilities are fit for purpose through inspections, repairs, and coordination of contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and replace all fixtures, fittings, and plant as required.
- Develop and maintain routine maintenance programmes for the facility.
- Check all electrical items for safety and keep records of safety checks.
- Monitor and maintain company vehicles and record maintenance activities.
- Keep grounds tidy, attractive, and safe, including gardening duties.
- Liaise with and monitor site contractors, ensuring adherence to health and safety systems.
- Assist management with security requirements and support other Elysium sites as needed.
- Participate in on‑call duties and attend the site when required.
Key Requirements & Competencies
- Proven experience within a maintenance role, preferably with supervisory or lead responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety systems and the ability to comply with all procedures.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a broader team.
- Demonstrated courtesy and respect towards residents and colleagues at all times.
- Proactive, organised, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Effective communication skills and a willingness to engage in training sessions.
- All candidates will be subject to a DBS disclosure.
