About the Role
At Care By Us (Part of the CCH Group) we are looking for full‑time and part‑time Respite Support Workers to join our friendly team across Hertfordshire.
The role offers flexible Monday to Friday shifts between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, enabling work‑life balance.
Locations include West & Central Hertfordshire: Watford, Three Rivers, Hemel Hempstead (HP1, HP2, HP3), Tring, Potten End, Bovingdon, Kings Langley, Pepperstock, Markyate, St Albans (AL3) and Welwyn Garden City (AL7). East Hertfordshire: Ware, Stanstead Abbotts (SG12), Cheshunt & Goffs Oak (EN7).
The primary responsibility is to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers, maintaining the service user’s routine while offering companionship, personal care, household support, community inclusion and medication assistance. You will support adults with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, mental health issues and challenging behaviours.
Responsibilities
- Family‑Style Support – integrate into daily life to provide companionship and emotional support.
- Personal Care – assist with washing, dressing, toileting and feeding with dignity.
- Household Support – prepare meals, do laundry and light housework.
- Community Inclusion – encourage hobbies and community activities.
- Medication – administer or assist with medication as directed by care plans.
Qualifications
- Genuine desire to help others with patience, empathy and compassion.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
