Job Title

SHEQ Coordinator – Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D)

Role Purpose

The SHEQ Coordinator will support the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of SHEQ management systems, digital platforms and business intelligence reporting across the Power Transmission & Distribution business. The role will be responsible for managing SharePoint environments, supporting Power BI reporting, maintaining SHEQ databases and workflows, and ensuring that SHEQ data is accurate, accessible and transformed into meaningful insights that drive operational performance and risk reduction.

Key Responsibilities

  • SHEQ Management Systems – Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS), manage document control processes, coordinate system updates for ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, National Grid requirements and client‑specific SHEQ standards, monitor review schedules, support governance activities and assist with internal and external audits.
  • SharePoint Administration & Development – Develop, manage and continuously improve SharePoint sites, create document libraries, workflows, dashboards and communication pages, establish permissions and governance controls, support migration of legacy documentation, and maintain records management and document retention requirements.
  • Power BI & Data Analytics – Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, produce visual performance reports covering safety, environmental, quality, operational assurance and incident trends, build automated reporting solutions, support predictive analytics and trend analysis, and ensure consistency and integrity of business reporting metrics.
  • Digital Systems Management – Support administration and optimisation of EcoOnline, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, Excel databases and other SHEQ systems; assist with configuration, user administration, automated workflows, and explore digital innovation and AI‑enabled solutions.
  • Data Quality & Governance – Conduct regular data validation and quality assurance checks, support the development of governance standards, identify gaps, trends and anomalies within SHEQ datasets, ensure GDPR compliance and produce regular management reports and KPI summaries.
  • Training & User Support – Provide first‑line support to system users, deliver training sessions on Microsoft 365, SharePoint and reporting tools, produce user guides and digital learning materials, and promote best practice use of SHEQ systems.
  • Continual Improvement – Support the implementation of digital transformation initiatives, identify opportunities to automate manual processes, develop innovative reporting and performance monitoring solutions, and support business‑wide improvement projects aimed at enhancing SHEQ performance and operational efficiency.

Key Relationships

  • Internal: Director of SHEQ, Head of HSSEQ, SHEQ Systems & Assurance Manager, SHEQ Advisors and Managers, Operational Directors, Project Managers, IT Department, HR and Learning & Development Teams.
  • External: Software providers, Audit bodies, Clients and framework representatives, External consultants.

Qualifications

  • Essential – Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent; Qualification in Information Management, Data Analytics, Business Systems or related discipline; Advanced Microsoft Excel qualification or demonstrable experience.
  • Desirable – Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, SharePoint Administrator, Power Platform Fundamentals, Internal Auditor qualification, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 awareness training.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Essential – Experience managing SharePoint environments, creating and maintaining Power BI dashboards, advanced Microsoft 365 skills, strong understanding of Excel, Power Query, Power Automate, Forms, Teams, managing large datasets, producing KPI reports, strong document control and governance experience.
  • Desirable – Experience within utilities, construction, infrastructure or power sectors; knowledge of SHEQ management systems and ISO‑certified systems; familiarity with EcoOnline or similar platforms; understanding of National Grid and DNO contractor environments.
