Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a confident and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to work within a specialist SEN provision in the Bridgend area.

This is a rewarding yet highly challenging role, supporting pupils with complex behavioural needs. The position will primarily involve working with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 learners, so prior experience with older students and managing challenging behaviour is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural and additional learning needs
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours effectively and safely
  • Support students in accessing their education and promoting positive outcomes
  • Work closely with teaching staff and wider support teams
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils

Qualifications

  • Confident, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Experienced in working with challenging behaviours (essential)
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience within SEN or alternative provisions (desirable)
  • Passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential
