SEN Teaching Assistant – Start Date: September 2026; Location: Barnet; Full-time; Salary: £108 – £110 per day
About the role and school
We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Barnet from September. This SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD and speech and language difficulties.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils access learning and achieve their individual targets. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will become part of a supportive and collaborative team committed to providing an inclusive learning environment.
This SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity is ideal for someone with previous experience supporting children with SEND and a passion for making a positive difference.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support
- Support pupils with additional learning needs
- Implement strategies outlined within EHCPs
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement
- Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with teachers and parents
Qualifications/Experience
- Previous experience working with SEND pupils is desirable
- Experience within a primary school setting is advantageousExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK
