Position commencing 1st September 2026 for 3 terms maternity cover.

About the School
Edith Borthwick is a community special school supporting learners aged 3 to 19 with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and autism. Since opening our purpose‑built site in Braintree in 2015, we have grown to over 245 learners, offering outstanding facilities including a large field, multi‑use games area (MUGA), sensory bus, sensory garden, and mud garden.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Highly motivated and committed to achieving the best for every student.
- Sets high expectations for themselves and students.
- Has bundles of energy and enthusiasm and a great sense of humour.
- Can make learning motivating, inspiring and fun.
- Has good interpersonal and communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team.
- Experience in working within a SEN environment is essential, even from a mainstream setting.
- ECT are welcome and we offer a good support network and programme for ECTs.
