Buyers Administration Assistant

We’re looking an Buyers Administration Assistant to join our Monsoon Buying team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute and support the team to develop a balanced and commercial product range for the Monsoon brand.

Responsibilities

  • Critical Path Management: Planning and Design, Supporting the review of last seasons performance and lessons learnt document.
  • Collation of inspiration material.
  • Undertaking competitive shops when requested.
  • Range Building: Contributing to range building activities and supporting the Buyer by ensuring web selection sheets and samples are completed in line with critical path.
  • Approving samples.
  • Liaising with press team, international, merchandising to ensure they have samples when required; Production/Shipping.
  • Communicating daily with the team to manage critical path.
  • Creating purchase orders on Mercatus and ensuring that the suppliers receive correct information to commence manufacturing in line with critical path dates.
  • Informing suppliers of correct labelling and packaging and any changes necessary.
  • Launch/In Season Trading: Compiling and formatting the description sheets branch reference; description sheets in store 6 weeks prior to launch.
  • Investigating product issues via direct contact with branches and resolving issues with line manager.
  • Marketing prep: Campaign/Press Day etc.
  • Team Support: Provide additional support to buying team when requested; maintain awareness of current issues within Monsoon Accessorize and impact that these have on the team.
  • Sample management: Submitting approval forms to suppliers using Buyers comments.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload with proven administrative ability.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making, always focusing on solutions.
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Self‑motivator who is enthusiastic and keen to progress and develop.
  • Active team player who constantly contributes and supports other members.
  • Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Word & Excel) with an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Desirable: Previous BAA experience.
  • Degree in Buying/Fashion.
