Logistics Security Officer

Pay & Hours

Pay rate: £13.23 per hour. Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (4 Day shifts – 4 off – 4 Night shifts – 4 off). Times: 0700 – 1900 / 1900 – 0700.

Job Overview

Mitie is looking for a Logistics Security Officer who can deliver exceptional customer service while creating a safe environment free from the fear of crime for visitors and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver industry-leading customer service.
• Conduct patrols of the depot.
• Provide a visible security presence for colleagues, contractors, and visitors.
• Utilise CCTV systems to support the reduction of crime and stock loss.
• Liaise with depot management teams.
• Deter theft (internal and/or external) and other poor working practices.
• Conduct searches (to be discussed at interview).
• Respond to on‑site incidents or requests for assistance, assuming control until the arrival of Client, Emergency Services or Depot Duty Manager.
• Highlight breaches of security procedures, including internal and external crime.
• Support access and egress to and from the site as required by installed systems.
• Gatehouse duties, including booking in vehicles and supporting the transport operation (to be discussed at interview).

Requirements

• Current SIA licence or SIA certificates (training for a licence can be provided).
• Full 5‑year checkable employment/education history; failure to provide could result in offer withdrawal or employment termination.
• Reasonable level of PC skills.
