About the Role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of high‑quality Waitrose produce and partner‑led service right to customers’ homes. When you’re not on the road, you’ll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to a friendly and welcoming environment.
Due to its nature, you must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Check delivery routes for the day.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
- Complete all vehicle safety checks, maintain road compliance and adhere to health and safety requirements.
- Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand on the road, providing excellent customer service.
- Help customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shop‑keeping tasks when required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Full valid B‑Category UK manual driving licence with no more than six points.
- Great customer service skills.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (e.g., lifting crates, walking up staircases, moving cages).
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a driving role.
- Knowledge of chilled vehicles (training provided).
Hours
Varied part‑time hours across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings, and weekends between 06:30 and 21:30.
