The role reports to the Transport Manager, with a team focused on safety, compassion, and efficiency
What you’ll do
- Safely operate Trust vehicles, ensuring passenger safety at all times
- Assist service users with boarding, alighting, and mobility, including those in wheelchairs
- Deliver and collect service users to various locations, including care facilities and outings
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and minor repairs, reporting faults promptly
- Support in emergency situations, including evacuations and administering first aid if needed
- Complete accurate journey and vehicle logs, and assist with incident reporting
- Participate in training sessions and the Trust’s on-call rota as required
About you
- Valid Category D (Bus) driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- Experience in transporting vulnerable persons is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to assist service users including those with mobility aids
- Knowledge of road safety and basic vehicle maintenance
- First Aid certification is advantageous
