26/31/WNSW/WEB – Adult Residential Waking Night Support Worker

Glencraig is seeking to employ Waking Night Support Workers to work as part of a community with the purpose of meeting the physical, psychological, emotional and social needs of each resident with disabilities and challenging behaviour. Ideally, you will have experience supporting persons with Autism and learning disabilities.
The Waking Night Support Worker role can require an element of personal care and at times may require redirection or physical intervention as a last resort with those presenting challenging behaviours.

Hours: 33 and 44 hour contracts available, shift patterns are from 10pm 9am
Salary: 4 point incremental scale commencing on £17.43 per hour between 10pm-7am and £13.78 per hour between 7am-9am
Essential Criteria:
QCF Level 2 or equivalentin Health & Social Care or related discipline
(In the case of applicants who do not have an QCF level 2 or equivalent but have 1 years relevant care experience this part of the essential criteria will be waived).
Basic Numeracy and literacy (English language) skills
Registered or agreeable to applying for registration with the N. Ireland Social Care Council
At least six months experience in a caring field
Be flexible to work on a rota basis that may include unsocial hours and weekends
Desirable Criteria:
Qualification in Health & Social Care, Social Sciences, Nursing or similar field
Experience in a health or social care setting
Experience of working with individuals with a disability
Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour
