How you’ll make a difference

As a Weekend Community Meals Driver, you will play an important role in delivering nutritious meals to members of the community who may be unable to prepare meals for themselves. Not only will you be providing essential support, you will be helping them to remain healthy, independent and connected to their community.

What you will be doing

  • You will be part of a dedicated team providing a vital service to customers across South Gloucestershire, helping to support their wellbeing.
  • Working independently, you will manage a regular delivery route, giving you the opportunity to get to know your customers, build positive relationships and provide a friendly and reliable service.
  • It will be key for you to confidently navigate routes across South Gloucestershire, ensuring meals are delivered safely, accurately and on time to those who depend on them.

What we need from you

  • It is essential that you have a full, valid driving licence and knowledge of the South Gloucestershire area would be advantageous.
  • Given the nature of the role, you must be comfortableworking independently, with strong communication skills and interpersonal skills that enable you to build positive relationships with customers and provide a friendly, professional service.
  • You will be confident using your judgement, making decisions when required and recognising when concerns need to be escalated appropriately.
  • We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can manage their time effectively and is able to balance a delivery schedule while responding to the needs of customers with care and consideration.

What you need to know

  • Community meals is a year-round service, including Christmas and bank holidays.
  • Weekend work (we have shift patterns for one weekend in four, and also every other weekend available) shifts are 10.45am to 14.15pm.
  • There is a Sunday enhancement of time & half.
  • Salaries pro-rated to hours worked.
  • Your uniform will be provided.
  • We will offer food hygiene and allergen training if required.
  • Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.

Interviews will be held on the 12th August 2026.
