Consultant Psychiatrist – General Adult – CMHT

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a full-time substantive Consultant Psychiatrist for the CMHT in Bury. This community post offers an opportunity to contribute to service redesign, teaching, research, and local service user & carer groups.

• Provide high‑quality mental health care for adults with severe and enduring mental health problems within the community.
• Work closely with other teams and Consultants to ensure coherent, high‑quality care for adults with severe and enduring mental health problems in the Bury area.
• Collaborate with other Consultants to support the development of the service and attend local and divisional service development meetings.
• Contribute to the teaching of medical and nursing staff, supporting Bury’s strong teaching commitment.
• Engage with ongoing research projects and local service user & carer groups.
• Be based at the Irwell Unit, Fairfield General Hospital, and work within the Inpatient‑Outpatient model (New Ways of Working) as part of a team of six full‑time Adult Psychiatry Consultants.

Each Community Consultant will work with an allocated Junior Doctor from the NW Deanery training scheme and will receive support from an advanced practitioner and a speciality doctor. The EIT is covered by a part‑time consultant.
