Job Description:

You will work across Nature Positive’s carbon and built environment sustainability service streams, carrying out whole-life carbon assessments in the built environment and infrastructure spaces, advising project teams on carbon reduction strategies, and carrying out more general organisational GHG assessments and other related work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct whole-life carbon (WLC) assessments for construction and infrastructure projects using One Click LCA software.
  • Contribute to PAS2080 compliance and construction carbon management planning.
  • Create Circular Economy statements aligned with GLA requirements.
  • Conduct organisational greenhouse gas (GHG) assessments, verifications, and reports to relevant standards, including data collection, quality assurance, calculations, and reporting.
  • Develop decarbonisation plans to guide construction projects and broader organisations towards lower GHG emissions.
  • Set carbon reduction targets using the SBTi method.
  • Contribute to new business development, including developing leads and writing project proposals and tenders.
  • Delegate tasks to more junior colleagues where appropriate and provide suitable support.
  • Provide training and technical support to other team members as required.
  • Carry out other appropriate tasks and duties as reasonably requested.

Here at Nature Positive, part of the RSK Group, we are seeking a motivated and technically proficient consultant, at either senior or principal level depending on experience, to support the delivery of whole-life carbon and organisational and project-level greenhouse gas assessments within our Carbon, Climate & Built Environment Sustainability Team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • First or 2:1 BA/BSc qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. environmental or construction management, sustainability, civil engineering), or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of sustainability and carbon management in the construction sector, via either in-house or consultancy contexts.
  • Relevant experience in a consultancy environment: at least three years (senior consultant) or at least six years (principal consultant).
  • Close familiarity with relevant standards including the RICS whole-life carbon assessment standard, the LETI suite, and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol series.
  • Very strong quantitative and Excel skills.
  • Significant organisational and project-level GHG assessment experience.
  • Demonstrable experience at self‑management and working under own initiative, including managing multiple projects or workstreams.
  • Implementing or running the PAS2080 carbon management system (beneficial).
  • Coding, software or GIS knowledge (beneficial).
  • Experience with BREEAM, LEED or WELL (beneficial).
  • Running training or workshops (beneficial).
  • Setting formal science‑based GHG reduction targets (SBTs) (beneficial).
  • Business development or commercial experience (beneficial).
  • Line management experience (beneficial).
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (beneficial).
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. ISEP, RICS) (beneficial).

This role is full time (40 hours per week) and permanent, although a part‑time arrangement can be considered.
