We are seeking a well‑organised and passionate Logistics Coordinator to join a dynamic and highly established business in Bridgwater. This role supports field engineers, accounts and sales departments to ensure optimal company performance. Your responsibilities will involve managing the full process from receipt and entry of orders to effectively planning work schedules for field engineers across the country.
Responsibilities
Scheduling
- Schedule a team of field engineers
- Effective route planning and management of service level agreements
- Schedule and book reactive and planned work to appropriate technicians, considering customer and engineer locations, expertise, qualifications and response targets
- Manage internal processes and customer forecasts as required
- Ensure jobs are completed within timelines or escalated as appropriate
- Monitor technician travel, work activity and respond to issues accordingly
- Follow through customer enquiries from initial contact to completion
Customer Service
- Manage and organise shared inboxes
- Data handling and entry, ensuring all enquiries are accurately processed
- Process sales orders accurately by telephone and e‑mail, following company processes
- Respond to and resolve customer service issues or, where necessary, escalated to the appropriate level or contact
Key Skills
- Prior experience in scheduling, logistics or transport
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, multi‑skilled environment
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to propose and demonstrate improvements during the interview process
- Ability to work with bespoke software and interpret technical information
- Self‑motivated and strong team player
- Effective planning and organising abilities
- Capability to act proactively to deadlines with limited supervision
