About The Role

The Educational Inclusion and Partnerships Team fulfil the statutory duties of the local authority pertaining to children and young people of statutory school age, including Elective Home Education (EHE), Children Missing Education (CME), Child Employment and Entertainment (CEE), securing 6th day provision following Permanent Exclusion and investigations for the offence of failing to secure regular school attendance.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support Management with the production, manipulation and maintenance of data using a variety of IT systems.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of processes, systems and procedures associated with the service area.
  • Interact with colleagues, supervisors, managers, other service areas and the public, and coordinate own work to meet statutory timescales.
  • Use courtesy and effectiveness in dealing with others, asking questions, seeking clarification, and exchanging information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Contribute at a team level to monitoring resources, providing statistical information, and being involved in delegated project work, exercising individual judgement as required.
  • Undertake additional tasks to support the Business Support Manager per role functions.
  • Allocate, manage, and monitor resources, coordinating provision of resources and office supplies to minimise waste and maintain effective operation of the service area.
  • Operate and guide others in the use of detailed office equipment and software to provide effective service to the public and internal service users.
  • Develop and mentor less experienced colleagues, assist in routine tasks to support team performance and development objectives.
  • Operate and set up electronic filing and retrieval systems for the team to maintain effective service to service users.
  • Accurately maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems, guiding others to meet service standards.
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support and guidance on specific issues to internal and external service users.
  • Handle enquiries and queries, and undertake reception duties, answering telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries and signing in visitors.
  • Sort, refer, and respond to standard correspondence to ensure service standards are met.
  • Conduct research and general implementation of projects as identified by supervisors.
  • Gather data and financial information related to the work area to support production of management reports and information on service performance.
  • Initiate and build positive professional relationships with colleagues, internal and external service users to deliver services to required standards.
  • Produce detailed documents and support less experienced colleagues in document production.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement personal diary and meeting schedules to ensure business completion within service standards.
  • Keep immediate manager fully briefed and updated on meetings and events to facilitate effective delivery.
  • Maintain health, safety, data protection, security and confidentiality awareness.
  • Utilise IT systems, manipulate data, produce written reports, and demonstrate awareness of equal opportunities and other people’s behaviours and welfare needs.

About You

GCSE, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject and/or experience at administrator level 1 and an appropriate level of literacy and numeracy.
