Overview

The Christ Church Summerfield community in North Edgbaston is seeking an Operations Manager to support the church’s mission and provide a foundation for ministries. The role will ensure smooth operation, aid Lead Pastors, Ministry Leads, and the PCC in decision‑making and practical management on both a short‑and long‑term basis.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Lead day‑to‑day church operations, systems, administration, and team coordination.
  • Plan and oversee Sundays, events, projects, bookings, and annual calendar management.
  • Support staff, volunteers, safeguarding, communications, and internal processes.
  • Manage governance, compliance, finance administration, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee church buildings, facilities, contractors, health & safety, and site maintenance.
  • Coordinate baptisms, weddings, funerals, and external hall/church bookings.
  • Work closely with the Lead Pastor, ministry leads, PCC, and serving teams to ensure smooth and sustainable church operations.

  • Experience overseeing operations, preferably in a church setting.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated, and flexible with an innovative mindset.
  • Ability to juggle a broad range of responsibilities.
  • Open heart and “can‑do” attitude.
  • Good time‑management skills with a proven ability to prioritise workload.
  • Strong administrative skills.

  • Practising Christian required.
