The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, forward‑thinking leader to join GMPF as a Pensions Operations Manager. This critical role sits at the heart of our Employer Services function, providing operational leadership for our employer support and data teams. The Role

As Pensions Operations Manager, you will lead multiple operational teams, ensuring they deliver high‑quality, compliant, and customer‑focused pension administration services. You will drive continuous improvement, strengthen operational performance, and ensure our stakeholders receive an exceptional service at every interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead End‑to‑End Operations: Oversee the work of our employer support and data teams, ensuring all their work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and within business planning and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive Service Excellence and Operational Performance: Develop and lead innovative improvements to optimise processes, enhance service quality, and serve the evolving needs of members and stakeholders. Embrace digital solutions that enhance both operational effectiveness and member outcomes.
  • Provide Inspirational Leadership: Lead, motivate and develop managers and teams, fostering a positive, high‑performing culture that promotes accountability, collaboration, engagement, and professional development.
  • Champion the Member Experience: Ensure members and beneficiaries receive a consistently excellent service throughout their pension journey, balancing operational efficiency with empathy, care, and professionalism.
  • Strengthen Governance and Compliance: Maintain robust controls and governance arrangements across the member services processes, ensuring compliance with LGPS regulations, Fund policies, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate Across the Organisation: Work closely with colleagues across all other service areas to deliver service improvements, support organisational objectives, and embed best practice.
