Leisure Operations Manager: Step Into the Action
Running a 4,000‑member leisure club is incredibly rewarding, but challenging. This role is for those who prefer a dynamic environment over a standard desk job.
A Realistic Look at the Role
Leading by example, you will work alongside your team while handling administration and hitting commercial targets. Your primary focus will be on the club floor.
You will keep facilities spotless, supervise poolside, and serve as the first point of contact for maintenance. When issues arise that require external contractors, you will report, follow up, and ensure timely resolution.
The Logistics of Leisure
This is a 40‑hour contract working 5 days out of 7 with a range of shifts from 4:30 am to 11 pm, including weekends. Your manager shares a “work to live” approach, ensuring you receive compensatory time when needed.
What We Are Looking For
- The People Person: Calm under pressure, handles member feedback with grace, and is the friendly face everyone turns to.
- The Technical Stuff: Proficiency in pool plant operations plus strong health and safety knowledge, including risk assessments and COSHH.
- The Leadership: Ability to coach, train, and engage leisure team leaders and group fitness teams while running productive and enjoyable shifts.
The Perks: What is in it for you?
- Gym Membership: Two complimentary gym memberships at your home hotel.
- Hotel Stays: Hotel rooms from £20 across 34 hotels.
- Food & Drink: 50 % off food and drink for you and up to 5 guests, plus 75 % off Sunday dinner for up to 6 people.
- Friends & Family: Two friends or family members receive 25 % off F&B even when you are not there.
- Support: 24/7 mental health support via the Employee Assistance Programme.
We are not looking for corporate robots; we want hands‑on managers who lead with heart, practical sense, and a genuine care for the member experience. If you are ready to step up, apply and let’s have a chat.
