About the School
Maidenbower Infant School and Nursery is a Governor run, PVI nursery established in 2004 on a temporary contract until July 2027. It provides a safe and stimulating environment for 3- and 4-year-old children who are looking to develop lifelong skills in literacy, numeracy, independence, creativity and problem‑solving. The nursery offers both 15‑hour Universal Free Entitlement sessions and 30‑hour Extended Free Entitlement sessions.
Role Overview
Title: Level 2/3 Qualified Early Years Educator
Grade/Point: Grade 3/4
Hours: 28.5 hours per week term time + 5 INSET days
Line Manager: Nursery Manager

What You Need to Succeed – Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Full and relevant Level 2/3 qualification in Early Years.
- Experience of working in an early years setting for the last year.
- Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
- Clear DBS check.
- Knowledge of child protection issues and procedures.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Current knowledge of the Early Years Statutory Framework.
Desirable
- Willingness to attend appropriate training courses.
- Awareness of health and safety issues.

- Ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and parents (orally & written).
- Flexibility and ability to work from own initiative.

- Keep accurate and up‑to‑date records and assessments.
- Establish a supportive relationship with the parents.
- Manage children with specific needs who may demonstrate difficult behaviour.
- Use own initiative to develop resources to support individuals and small groups of children.
- Assist the Nursery Manager in creating a positive learning environment.
- Experience in leading large and whole group activities.
- Experience in building relationships with parents and children in the role of a key person.
