Advanced Electrician – Responsive Repairs (mobile – company van and fuel card provided)
Location: East London (Sector 1) – covering Croydon, Southwark, Vauxhall and surrounding areas (SE1, SE11, SE17, SE15, SW9, BR3, CR0, SE25)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £47,546 per annum + separate call-out payment paid at £525 weekly when on the rota.
Working Hours: 39 hours per week – Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Friday: 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Opportunity
An established social housing provider is seeking an experienced Advanced Electrician to join its Responsive Repairs team on a permanent basis. This role is vital in ensuring homes remain safe, secure and maintained to a high standard. Working across East London and surrounding areas, you will be responsible for delivering a range of electrical repairs, maintenance and testing services within residential properties, while providing excellent customer service and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance and installation work in domestic and commercial environments.
- Undertake electrical fixed wire testing and inspection.
- Install and maintain electrical systems up to 230 v/415 v.
- Complete all required certification and documentation accurately.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications and instructions.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service while meeting performance targets.
- Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota (additional payments apply).
Requirements
- Proven experience as a qualified Electrician within domestic and commercial settings.
- Strong knowledge of fixed wire testing, inspection and electrical maintenance.
- Ability to correctly complete electrical certification and maintain accurate records.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Background working within a customer‑focused environment.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks in line with health and safety guidelines.
Essential Qualifications
- IET EAS recognised core technical competence qualification – City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent.
- IET EAS recognised Wiring Regulations qualification – 18th Edition.
- IET EAS recognised Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification qualification – City & Guilds 2391‑52 or equivalent. Evidence of all essential qualifications required prior to interview.
