Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or three years’ experience and willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3.

Evidence of conduct
Evidence from previous employment concerning services relating to health or social care or children or vulnerable adults.
Proof of identity

Service description
The Disability Supported Accommodation Service (DSAS) is a citywide network of housing with support and respite services for adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, individuals with a physical disability, adults who are sensory impaired or have an acquired brain injury. This is a 24/7 provision and candidates will need to be willing to work on a rota to cover days, evenings and weekends.
The working pattern involves a Saturday to Friday rota, 210 hours over a six‑week rota and includes bank holidays and special days; sleep‑in shifts may be required.
Key responsibilities
- Provide support to disabled adults with day‑to‑day needs within their own home or a supported living environment.
- Assist with personal care, medication administration, meal planning and preparation, and support during medical appointments.
- Access local community for shopping and activities, support during medical appointments.
- Assist in continuous development of Assistant Support Workers and Waking Night Support Workers through mentoring and observations.
- Provide practical and emotional support to promote independence and collaborate with involved parties to achieve positive outcomes.
