Production Technician

Production Technician, Offshore Morecambe

Duration: Core contract, 12‑month contract

Location: Offshore Morecambe, crew change from Blackpool. Rotation: 2 weeks on / 3 weeks off.

Closing Date for Applications: COB Sunday 19th July.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a high‑pressure gas production/processing plant in accordance with procedures, using on‑plant and control room equipment.
• Monitor performance through control systems and regular on‑site patrol, recording data and providing appropriate reports.
• Act as Area Technician, monitoring and controlling all activities within a defined area of jurisdiction in accordance with permit specifications, constraints and work practices.
• Act as Mechanical Isolating Authority, applying and testing mechanical isolations within the defined area and supporting the Production Team Lead with isolation certificates.
• Support the Production Team Lead with planning and preparation of isolation certificates, Permits to Work and maintenance plans, ensuring safe working conditions and controlling the return of plant to service.
• Identify and report plant/equipment defects and operating abnormalities, raising and progressing work order defects through the system.
• Perform first‑line maintenance and remedial tasks, maintaining appropriate records.
• Analyse plant performance data to ensure optimum efficiency, producing reports and recommendations.
• Monitor stock levels of chemicals, pigs, spares and consumables to ensure continuity of production capability.
• Extract process material samples, conduct analysis to monitor product quality and ensure effluent discharges meet specified standards, taking corrective actions as appropriate.

Qualifications & Training

• Previous offshore/onshore production experience in the E&P industry.
• Demonstrable experience in petrochemical operations or maintenance.
• Thorough knowledge of procedures and process systems to ensure ongoing integrity of health, safety and environmental performance.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Confidence to make judgements relying on own knowledge and to react positively to any incident.
• Minimum BTEC ordinary certificate or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• Current valid Offshore Survival, Offshore Medical and MIST certificates.
• Training in firefighting, use of self‑contained breathing apparatus, coxswain (offshore) and first aid to enable participation in an Emergency Response Team.
