Ophthalmic Imaging Technician
The award winning Ophthalmology Outpatient department HRI is offering an exciting opportunity for highly motivated individuals to join our expanding Imaging team.
This interesting and challenging role involves performing vision tests and diagnostic digital imaging scans on patients presenting with a variety of eye conditions.

Previous healthcare and/or imaging experience would be an advantage but not essential as a full induction and training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the Ophthalmic Imaging Team in the provision of a high quality specialist diagnostic imaging service to the department of ophthalmology.
To carry out a range of ophthalmic imaging techniques to support the diagnosis and management of ophthalmic patients. These include the following but not an exhaustive list:
- Visual Fields
- Optical Coherence Tomography
- Topography

Education / Qualifications
- Educated to at least GCSE level
- Willingness to develop and acquire new skills
- NVQ level 2 in Health Care or equivalent
Knowledge, Training & Experience
- Ability to communicate well within a multidisciplinary team
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work under pressure
- Candidate will be expected to maintain knowledge by attending courses/training as required
- Customer care experience
- Ability to follow detailed guidelines
- Experience in Healthcare or Ophthalmic setting.
