Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and pro‑active Facilities Apprentice to join the team at our head office in Chiswick Park, London. Working alongside an experienced Facilities Manager, you will support the smooth day‑to‑day running of the workplace, helping to ensure the office environment is safe, functional, and sustainable. As part of this role, you will complete a Level 3 Facilities Management Supervisor apprenticeship with our training provider in which you will spend approximately 20% of your time completing offline learning.

Key Deliverables

  • Carry out routine compliance hazard checks and monthly safety audits
  • Support the maintenance of a safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations
  • Log maintenance requests and ensure they are progressed through to completion
  • Liaise with maintenance engineer and contractors as required
  • Coordinate with our executive and personal assistants to forward plan weekly meeting room events
  • Facilitate meeting room set up requirements according to health and safety standards
  • Maintain an organised, safe, and efficient post room
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and parcels
  • Assist with the management of ID access cards
  • Support office security processes
  • Contribute to waste management and recycling initiatives
  • Promote sustainable workplace practices
  • Act as a first point of contact for facilities-related queries
  • Respond to staff requests with a professional, customer-focused approach

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades 4 and above) including Maths and English or equivalent
  • Interest in Facilities or Building Services
  • Strong organisational, communication and time management skills
  • Experience in Microsoft 365 tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams & SharePoint
  • Positive “can-do” attitude
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Applicants must have been resident in the UK for 3 years
  • Non-UK nationals are eligible if their residence in the UK and Islands has not during any part of that 3-year period been wholly or mainly for the purpose of receiving full-time education and have permission granted by the UK government to live in the UK and such permission is not for education purposes only
  • Pladis uses both Psychometric and Aptitude tests to support our processes so you may be asked to complete these as part of your process. Some processes may differ, but we will keep you updated!
