About the role:
We are working with a sixth form college in Leeds to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Law teacher to deliver A Level and BTEC Law on a long-term, full-time supply basis from September. You will join a supportive department committed to strong outcomes, high expectations and excellent student experience, with teaching focused on 16–18 learners. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across A Level Law and BTEC Law, aligned to the relevant specifications and assessment requirements.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student progress, independence and study skills.
- Set, mark and provide timely feedback on classwork, homework and assessments, using data to identify gaps and plan targeted support.
- Prepare students effectively for external examinations and internal/unit assessments, including revision planning and exam technique.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or QTLS (or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification).
- Strong subject knowledge in Law and the ability to teach A Level and vocational/applied Law confidently.
- Recent experience teaching in a secondary school, sixth form or FE college setting (ideally with post-16 learners).
- Excellent classroom practice, with the ability to motivate learners and support a range of abilities.
