HGV Class 1 (Cat C&E) Shunter Night Driver – Crewe Depot
What We Can Offer You
£18.32 per hour, with an overtime rate of £27.48 after full‑time hours are completed.
Full‑time colleagues enjoy a minimum of 32 days’ annual leave (including Bank Holidays) and a 3% pension contribution. Additional flexible benefits such as shopping vouchers, insurance and healthcare are also available.
Responsibilities
• Drive longer routes in waves, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of parcels from the depot to clients and other sites within the network.• Collect and deliver parcels safely, complete required paperwork and assist depot staff with heavier items when needed.• Perform tail‑lifting duties and manage loading/unloading of your vehicle.• Work a 40‑hour week, scheduled in any 5 shifts out of 7 with rosters provided in advance.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Full UK driving licence with HGV Class 1 (Cat C E) entitlement, driver’s CPC and digital tachograph.
- Newly‑qualified drivers are welcome, provided they can undertake a short driving assessment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A safety‑first mindset.
- Reasonable physical fitness.
