About the role
The Automation & AI Apprentice will support the delivery of automation, digital improvement and workflow optimisation initiatives across Communitas Clinics. Working within the PSTD team, the post holder will develop practical skills in Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, AI‑enabled workflows and process improvement. The role will help departments reduce manual effort, improve visibility of work, streamline processes and support better outcomes for staff and patients. The role will initially focus on supporting departmental Kanban boards to improve workflow visibility, understand operational processes and identify opportunities for improvement, before progressing into departmental automation development, AI‑enabled solutions and wider business improvement initiatives. This is a developmental apprenticeship role, with duties undertaken under appropriate supervision and increasing in complexity as skills and confidence develop.

Required skills
- Strong interest in technology, automation and digital improvement
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365 applications
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly
- Interest in improving how services and teams work through practical use of technology
Beneficial experience
- Awareness of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps
- Experience using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Planner or similar digital collaboration tools
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence technologies and their practical workplace use
- Understanding of process improvement principles
- Experience of working in a customer service, healthcare, administrative or operational environment
- Awareness of data protection, confidentiality or information governance principles
- Interest in automation, workflow design, reporting or digital transformation
Entry requirements
- Level 3 Qualification (Apprenticeship/A Levels/BTEC etc.)
- OR equivalent work experience (typically 2 years in a relevant role)
- 5 x GCSE’s including English & Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
- International equivalents of the above qualifications may be considered if you can provide an official document that states how your qualifications compare to UK qualifications
Working hours
Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
