Committed to inclusivity, we are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with special needs, including SEMH and autism.
The children we work with have varying needs — emotional, physical, or mental. Working at this school can be challenging but rewarding. We are looking for people with the right attitude who we can upskill and put through CPD training.
Role Overview
As a Teaching Assistant for Special Educational Needs, you will play a crucial role in providing support to students with diverse learning needs, focusing primarily on autism. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and group support to students with autism, ensuring their unique learning needs are met.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Collaborate with the teaching team, parents, and external professionals to support the holistic development of each student.
Requirements
Relevant experience working with children.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
