Job Title: SEND Transitional Coach

Location: Highbury Campus with cross-campus travel

Salary: £37,127.24 – £38,225.61 Full Time Equivalent per annum

Hours of work: 30 Hours per week, 52 Weeks per year, Part-Time, Temporary/Maternity Cover, September 2026 to August 2027

About the role

Reporting to the Assistant Principal, you will support and shape the future of young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities through their transition from school to further learning, training and employment. They will develop outstanding enrichment and enterprise programmes to enhance students learning, confidence and employability skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise and engage with parents/carers, students, staff, and external organisations such as partner schools and other support services.
  • Support students on a one-to-one basis with their transition and progression opportunities as well as meeting and supporting parent/carers on a one-to-one basis.
  • Supporting employers when employing SEND learners.
  • Provide ongoing information, advice, and guidance on future progression opportunities such as employment, external SEND providers and support services.
  • Responsible for the organisation, management and promotion of cross-college SEND events specifically for the benefit of SEND students and their parents/carers. Examples may include SEND career fairs, live performances, and parent evening events.
  • Plan and deliver a range of enrichment and enterprise projects to enhance skills relevant to the student’s future progression.
  • Working with the marketing team and students in designing/creating information and guidance resources in relation to progression and opportunities for both students, parent/carers and a wider audience.
  • Representing the college at local school liaison, career fair and SEND networking events.

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you
