Deputy Head of Pre-GCSE English

Bolton College is looking to appoint ambitious, talented, and enthusiastic Deputy Head of Pre‑GCSE English to join our flourishing team.

Ideally, you will have:

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE).
• English qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Knowledge of Pre‑GCSE and progression pathways.
• Experience of supporting learners with lower prior attainment.
• Experience of contributing to quality improvement activity.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.

Day‑to‑day you will be responsible for:

• Leading the day‑to‑day management of Pre‑GCSE provision within English.
• Ensuring curriculum delivery is engaging, inclusive and responsive to learner needs.
• Monitoring the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Managing, supporting and developing teaching staff.
• Monitoring learner progress and progression towards GCSE readiness.
• Working with curriculum and support teams to secure rapid intervention and engagement.

£40,073 – £43,987 per annum (pro rata for part time hours)
