Referral to treatment (RTT) Data Coordinator

Main duties of the job

  • Provide support to the Access Manager & Ops Team with validation of RTT pathways within Child Health.
  • Help monitor performance targets to ensure wait times are reduced.
  • Assist with validation of data in national databases and ensure accuracy and timeliness of entries.
  • Full on-site working is required at the start; scope for up to 2 days remote working per week after competency is demonstrated.

Job responsibilities

  • Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of patient pathways along with the validation of national databases.
  • Audit and validate data entered into hospital systems (e.g., HICSS, E-Docs, E-Camis, Camis) to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Proficient in the use of hospital computerised patient systems.

Person Specification

Qualifications / training required

  • Good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy demonstrated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • NVQ3/A Level or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
  • Evidence of personal development through courses or further study.
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification (or working towards).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Previous or relevant experience necessary

  • Knowledge of health service policy related to access targets.
  • Experience in an administrative role in a customer-focused environment.
  • Experience dealing with non-routine and complex problems.
  • Proficiency with hospital computerised patient systems.

Aptitudes and skills required

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to analyse processes and develop monitoring systems.
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and assimilate complex information quickly.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and multitask.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling complex data.

Special requirements of the post

  • Reliability and good timekeeping.
  • Concentration for long periods when analysing complex data across systems.
  • Flexibility to accommodate peaks and troughs of activity.
