Position

Unit Manager / Deputy Unit Manager – Finishing Department at THE·TEAM.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Finishing Unit team, including interviewing and building a strong team.
  • Administer all Finishing Unit personnel, setting and managing team workloads across daily production tasks.
  • Schedule all projects and finishing requirements on the internal MI System (training provided).
  • Understand risk and escalation processes to ensure issues are avoided or managed correctly.
  • Follow instructions surrounding campaign and event requirements from production managers.
  • Operate and maintain a clean, efficient, and productive finishing department.
  • Set daily tasks and report progress to the Print Production Director.
  • Work as a team to achieve daily objectives to a high standard.
  • Follow health & safety rules and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with the unit team and other departments.

Key Finishing Duties

  • Zund cutting tables – cutting, kiss cutting, routing, etc.
  • Laminating – heated rollers and rolls.
  • Hand finishing – vinyl wrap mounting, weeding, etc.
  • Eyelets and hemming – finishing of banners/textiles.
  • Manual finishing operations – gluing, assembly, taping, etc.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Planning and organising skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Experience in planning and scheduling of large format graphics production.
  • Passion for servicing internal and external clients.
  • Great attention to detail and strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentational).
  • Experience with print and finishing production techniques of large format graphics.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and solid computer skills (training provided for the MIS system).
  • Ability to prioritise and think logically and methodically.

Location

The role will be based in our Orpington office, Monday to Friday.
