A bubbly, sociable, caring and energetic companion is required to support an intelligent young adult who has a right‑sided below knee amputation.

Location: Harrogate

Key Responsibilities

• Provide transport to medical appointments (must have a valid driving licence).
• Support with outdoor activities.
• Assist with cooking, baking and shopping.
• Collect the client from work and accompany them to relevant appointments or enjoy social time together.

Requirements

• Fluent English speaking – female applicants only.
• Must be able to drive and own a car that can comfortably accommodate a wheelchair.
• Must be reasonably fit and able to lift a wheelchair in and out of the car.
• Must be able to provide reliable transport as described above.

Hours

12 hours each week. 1:00pm to 5:00pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday (these may be altered to suit a suitable applicant’s circumstances). Flexible hours over school holidays; occasional weekend trips away.

Pay

£15.65 per hour.

Exception under the Equality Act 2010: the post is only open to females due to the personal assistance required.
