Job Description:

Johnston Kennedy DFK is a pro-active firm of Chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisors based in Northern Ireland with strong local, national and international connections.

We offer a wide range of accountancy services including accounts preparation, audit and assurance, taxation and corporate finance, to clients in business and not-for-profit sectors.

We are seeking to appoint two Graduate Trainee Accountants for our practice to complete a training contract as a Chartered Accountant, one based in our Lisburn office and one based in our Belfast office.

The successful applicants will be offered a Chartered Accountancy training contract, entitlement to paid study leave and offered enrolment on the Chartered Accountants training program. They will be working primarily within our accountancy and audit divisions, with opportunity to gain experience of VAT compliance services and of income and corporation tax work. They will join a team, comprising qualified accountants and graduate trainees undertaking their training contract. The successful applicants will be mentored by a qualified chartered accountant and receive on the job training in a wide range of accounting and tax areas, across a wide range of business and not-for-profit sectors. Our management team is well experienced in developing and supporting staff through their training contract and the early stages of their professional career. Experience will be gained of preparing accounts for clients across a broad spectrum of financial recording systems, including the use of cloud-based accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks and in data manipulation with AI in excel etc.

Skills:Suitable candidates will have: Minimum 2:1 degree (achieved or predicted) Minimum grade B in both GCSE English & Maths Good numerical skills Excellent inter-personal and communication skill Excellent knowledge of MS Office, mainly Excel Willingness to learn and develop professionally
