Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) Cheshiren Open to full time or part time

n A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) to join the legal arm of a global professional services firm

n This is a key role within a boutique SRA-regulated law firm, supporting a private client practice specialising in areas including wills, trusts, probate, powers of attorney and wider private client matters.

n The successful candidate will take ownership of the firm’s regulatory compliance framework, ensuring ongoing adherence to the SRA Standards and Regulations and supporting a strong culture of risk management and best practice.

The Role?n ✅ Maintaining compliance with the firm’s SRA authorisation requirements and regulatory obligationsn ✅ Monitoring compliance across the business and advising managers, employees and stakeholders on regulatory mattersn ✅ Identifying, managing and escalating potential breaches or areas of regulatory riskn ✅ Providing guidance on SRA Standards and Regulations and supporting continuous improvement of compliance processesn ✅ Reporting relevant matters to the SRA where requiredn ✅ Working closely with senior leadership and the wider business to embed a proactive compliance culture

About You? n ✔️ Qualified solicitor status with 5+ years PQE gained within an SRA-regulated law firmn ✔️ Previous experience acting as a COLP for at least 2 yearsn ✔️ Strong knowledge of the SRA Standards and Regulations and law firm compliance requirementsn ✔️ The confidence to advise and challenge at Board and senior management leveln ✔️ Excellent communication, organisation and prioritisation skillsn ✔️ A proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously
