The purpose of this role is to provide targeted, personalised support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with dyslexia, enabling them to access the curriculum, develop confidence, and make sustained academic progress. The role involves working closely with the SENCo and Class Teacher to implement strategies and interventions aligned to the pupil’s EHCP.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s specific learning needs, particularly dyslexiaDeliver and support EHCP targets and structured interventionsAdapt learning materials to ensure access to the curriculumSupport the pupil in developing literacy skills, organisation, and confidenceEncourage positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policyMonitor and record progress, providing feedback to the SENCo and Class TeacherFoster a positive, supportive relationship with the pupilImplementing dyslexia-friendly strategies (e.g. multi-sensory approaches, scaffolding, reading/writing support)Assisting the pupil with focus, task completion and independent learning skillsWho we are looking for:Qualifications, Skills & ExperienceGCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)Experience in a 1:1 TA or Learning Support roleExperience supporting children with dyslexia and/or specific learning needsUnderstanding of SEND and the SEND Code of PracticeAbility to deliver structured, targeted interventionsStrong communication skills with staff, pupils and parentsPatient, empathetic and adaptable approachLevel 3 Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) qualification in Dyslexia, or an equivalent recognised qualification is desirableCommitment to ongoing CPD in supporting dyslexic learners is desirableBenefits at Blenheim Schools:Competitive salary depending upon qualifications and experienceFree lunch provided during Term TimeAnnual leave and public holidaysFree parking on site (subject to availability)School fee discountExclusive third-party discountsOngoing professional developmentHow to ApplyComplete this application before the closing date.Blenheim Schools is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
