Overview

Energy, Engineering and Technical Services is one of our newest Business Units and has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland’s first Energy Power station. Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle.

Position Summary

We are looking to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer who will serve as the technical authority for a Detailing contract package within the SZC project (SZ1226, SZ1221 or SZ1222). The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of technical deliverables, both pre- and post-signature of the contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Lead Technical Authority for the L3 detailing contract.
  • Provide technical oversight, coordination, and ensure technical surveillance of all L3 detailer submissions is done by technical leads.
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with SZC standards and replication principles.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all technical matters between the L3 Detailer and SZC PM.
  • Manage the L3 design process across all gateway review phases (GR0 to GRD), including GR0 to GRB, GRB to GRC, GRC to GRD.
  • Chair and lead CIHP, GRC, and GRD review meetings.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure technical consistency and compliance.
  • Lead and coordinate technical Leads in the surveillance and review of key deliverables.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Working experience on civil detailing engineering.
  • Experience in the nuclear sector is advantageous.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Codes & Standards on CW and of Engineering & Design processes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills, particularly in managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Proven ability to manage complex interfaces and resolve technical conflicts.
  • Familiarity with nuclear industry standards, replication principles, and configuration management.
