Overview

The Children and Families Department takes a strengths‑based approach to working with each other, children, young people and families, and our partner agencies. We call this ‘Our Nottinghamshire Approach’.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and ensure the effectiveness of educational safeguarding practices and procedures.
  • Verify that providers deliver the promised curriculum and support pupils in achieving recognised qualifications.
  • Offer guidance to providers facing challenges and, when necessary, raise serious concerns with the Local Authority (LA) and Ofsted.
  • Collect and analyse data to prepare reports informing decision‑making and policy development.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to promote best practices in education and safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • A relevant degree‑level qualification in education or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in education.
  • Experience working with vulnerable children.
  • Strong negotiation, evaluation, and analysis skills.
  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation within a regulatory environment.
