Location: Holborn, Greater London

Responsibilities

  • Help shape the company’s next‑generation approach to cloud economics, platform consumption and capacity management across Azure, Rackspace and engineering platforms such as GitHub and Copilot.
  • Work closely with Operations and Engineering teams to improve visibility, drive optimisation opportunities and embed cost‑conscious engineering practices into the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Define and evolve FinOps, capacity management and consumption management practices for NextGen platforms.
  • Partner with Operations teams to improve forecasting, reporting and governance across cloud, infrastructure and engineering tooling spend.
  • Drive optimisation opportunities through architecture, instance selection, scheduling, utilisation management and automation.
  • Establish standards, guardrails and reporting that enable teams to make informed technical and financial decisions.
  • Leverage AI and data‑driven insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Influence engineering teams to adopt cost‑conscious behaviours without compromising resilience, security or delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Strong platform engineering or cloud architecture background, particularly in Azure.
  • Experience improving cloud economics, utilisation, capacity planning or platform cost management within an enterprise environment.
  • Understanding of public cloud, private cloud, Kubernetes, virtual machines and subscription‑based engineering platforms.
  • Able to influence technology decisions, challenge existing practices and drive adoption of better engineering behaviours.
  • Understand the risks associated with your role and what that means for the company and all stakeholders.
