C# Senior Software Developer

Salary: £50,000 – 75,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in C#.
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC or .NET Core Web API.
• Solid understanding of MVC concepts including routing, controllers, filters, middleware, model binding, and dependency injection.
• Experience with Entity Framework Core, including DbContext, DbSet, OnModelCreating, and LINQ.
• Experience with ADO.NET and raw SQL.
• Experience with MS SQL Server or MySQL.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Strong REST API experience, including integration with HttpClient, RestSharp, JSON serialization/deserialization, CORS, HTTPS, and API security.
• Experience with Git version control and CI/CD workflows, preferably Azure DevOps or GitLab CI.
• Experience hosting applications with IIS or Kestrel.
• Docker basics are preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience with fintech or payments API integration is a bonus.
• Cloud services experience with Azure or AWS hosting basics is a bonus.
• Experience with webhooks and event-based APIs is a bonus.
• Experience with structured logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, or App Insights is a bonus.
• Experience with performance optimization and API rate-handling is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web portals using ASP.NET MVC and .NET Core.
• Design and integrate REST APIs with internal and third-party services.
• Implement secure authentication mechanisms including JWT, OAuth2, and API keys.
• Connect applications to relational databases using Entity Framework Core.
• Debug and trace request flows from UI to controller, API, database, and response.
• Maintain and publish API documentation using Swagger and OpenAPI.
• Ensure API security, reliability, and performance through error handling, retry logic, logging, timeouts, and CORS.
• Collaborate with database, infrastructure, and QA teams on portal and API releases.
• Participate in code reviews, version control, and CI/CD deployment workflows.
• Lead projects and mentor junior developers.
