About the Opportunity
The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) ensures MoonPay’s platform is safeguarded against financial crime and money laundering activities. The FIU Analyst supports the team in monitoring transactions, coordinating with regulatory bodies, and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports.
The analyst will conduct transaction monitoring reviews to detect potential money laundering, terrorist financing, or illicit activities, and will work with the FIU Director and senior leadership to address AML matters in accordance with MoonPay’s compliance policies.
What You Will Do
- Utilize transaction monitoring and blockchain analytics solutions to independently analyze and assess activity or patterns that do not match the customer’s profile or expected behaviour.
- Review blockchain wallet screening, KYT alerts, and investigations, including on‑chain activity, to determine if customer activity presents risk indicators.
- Conduct open‑source searches as applicable to relevant customers, counterparties, and transactional activity.
- Analyze transactional activity using internal systems, blockchain screening tools, and open sources, and make sound judgment in determining alert dispositions with adequate conclusions.
- Prepare clear and concise alert and/or case dispositions of potential suspicious activity for Suspicious Matter Report consideration.
- Draft Suspicious Matter Reports when required and discuss findings with senior FIU leadership to determine the proper course of action.
- Ensure that transaction monitoring alerts, case investigations, and SMRs are completed and submitted within established deadlines and SLAs.
About You
- At least 2 years of experience in financial crime, compliance analytics, or investigations, preferably with TM/FIU, ACAMS, ACFCS, or ICA accreditation.
- Experience with blockchain analytics solutions such as Chainalysis, TRM, Elliptic, CipherTrace, or Scorechain.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle shifting priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Comfortable working independently and learning new tools and technology.
- Team player with good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
- Fluent in English.
