Overview

Multi‑Skilled Engineer – Doncaster – Up to £43,900 + Overtime – Days & Nights Rotation – No Weekends

Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join a growing organisation within their manufacturing operation in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance engineer to join a leading global manufacturer. The role is ideally suited to candidates with experience in manufacturing, production, extrusion, injection moulding or automated environments who are looking for a long‑term engineering career.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out reactive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maintain production performance.
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules across manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying electrical and mechanical faults using effective fault‑finding techniques.
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and engineering documentation.
  • Supporting the implementation of safe working practices in line with company procedures and legislation.
  • Assisting with engineering projects and equipment upgrades across the site.
  • Supporting Lead Engineers with workplace organisation and engineering standards.
  • Mentoring engineering apprentices within the maintenance department.
  • Attending daily engineering meetings, weekly RCA reviews and monthly energy meetings.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a qualified Engineer, preferably with a mechanical bias within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automated assembly systems, extrusion or injection moulding.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and engineering best practices.

Education

  • ONC qualified and/or Apprentice Trained Engineer (essential).
  • HNC qualification in an Engineering discipline (desirable).

Shift Pattern

  • Week 1: Monday & Tuesday Days, Thursday & Friday Nights
  • Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday Days
  • Week 3: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday Nights
