Are you an experienced Mechanical Project Manager looking to join a well‑established M&E contractor with an outstanding reputation in the commercial fit‑out sector?
We’re currently recruiting two Mechanical Project Managers on behalf of a 50m turnover M&E contractor that delivers high‑profile commercial fit‑out projects across London and the South East. With a strong pipeline of secured work, including projects valued up to 20m M&E, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business that invests in its people and promotes from within.
This role will see you taking full responsibility for the mechanical package on prestigious commercial fit‑out schemes, managing projects from pre‑construction through to successful handover while working closely with clients, consultants and internal delivery teams.
The Role
As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing mechanical packages on commercial fit‑out projects valued at 5m+ M&E.
- Leading projects from pre‑construction, procurement and programme planning through to commissioning and final handover.
- Managing site teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
- Working closely with commercial and design teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Attending client meetings and maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships.
- Overseeing quality, health & safety and programme performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Managing procurement, technical submissions, RFIs and project documentation.
- Supporting commissioning activities and ensuring a smooth client handover.
Requirements
To be considered, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the commercial fit‑out sector.
- Experience delivering mechanical packages on projects valued at 5m+ M&E.
- A relevant mechanical qualification (HNC/HND, Degree or recognised apprenticeship).
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
- Experience taking projects from pre‑construction through to handover.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A strong understanding of mechanical building services installation and project delivery.
