Curriculum areas
This role currently oversees the following curriculum areas: Business, Hair & Beauty, Motor Vehicle, Media, Sport, Travel and Tourism, and Uniformed Public Services. Experience across every curriculum area is not required, but a background in Business is particularly valued.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Lead and manage Curriculum Area to achieve outstanding education outcomes for young people and adults.
- Lead and performance manage a professional team of staff to deliver the aims of Nacro Education, Key Performance Indicators, and to ensure educational outcomes and progression of all students are at the centre of delivery.
- Develop and provide an exceptional student experience and empower and motivate students to identify and achieve desired outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with schools, employers, partners and any other stakeholder as required to secure recruitment of students, maintaining professional relationships and appropriate confidentiality of information.
- Manage and lead inputting of data in line with Nacro guidance and lead the use and analysis of data to inform and guide interventions and address areas of improvement.
- Provide development and support to direct reports to ensure their effectiveness and wellbeing.
- Take responsibility for all aspects of people management including recruitment, attendance, conduct and performance of direct reports using the appropriate policies and procedures.
- Must have some managerial experience – deputy, course or curriculum level.
- Must have been a teacher.
- Ideally want experience in one of the listed curriculum areas.
Qualifications
- English & Maths GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent.
- Level 5 DIT or equivalent / higher.
- Must follow internal development programme for managers through to Level 3 Coaching and mentoring.
