Hours: Average of 42 hours per week. 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts, including days, nights and weekends

Grade: Site Based

Purpose

The Site Security Manager role encompasses the key areas of Command, Communication, Coordination, and Compliance. The Duty Security Manager is responsible for managing the security workforce at the Yeovil site, ensuring effective contract delivery. This includes overseeing scheduling, Timegate compliance, recruitment, coordination of investigations, performance and absence management, and training. The Duty Security Manager works closely with stakeholders to maintain operational standards, ensure compliance with site procedures, and support the delivery of a safe and secure environment. In the absence of the Site Security Manager, the Duty Security Manager provides leadership and operational oversight to ensure continuity of service and effective decision‑making.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure team members complete training and hold valid SIA licences.
  • Manage staff rosters, leave, sickness and absences.
  • Support, coach and monitor Security Officers.
  • Maintain professional standards and conduct.
  • Recognise and reward team achievements.
  • Report incidents in line with procedures.
  • Work with management to improve service delivery.
  • Deliver and review operational and emergency training.
  • Monitor and report equipment faults.
  • Maintain proficiency in Access Control, CCTV, Detection Systems and Alarm Systems.
  • Participate in company training.
  • Act as the first point of contact for security issues and escalateregister when required.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • UK National
  • SC Clearance eligibility
  • 5‑year checkable work history
  • Valid SIA Licence
  • Strong communication skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • 5‑year checkable employment history (or supporting evidence covering periods of unemployment, self‑employment or study)
